Fleet Gameplay is the third phase of gameplay in Unnamed Space Idle and unlocked after reinforcing 5 times.

Major Spoilers for R5+ (click here to dismiss)

After the fifth Reinforce, a new System will be made available to the player: The Fleet system. Here, players can use their Astrium Fuel to travel to Galaxies, where they can use their Fleet Resources in order to battle their way through a short gauntlet of multiple "nodes", consisting of fights against enemy fleets, stat upgrades for that specific galaxy, additional ships for the players fleet, and Artifacts. Each galaxy also has at least one boss fight, where players have to destroy the enemy fleet in order to then deal damage to the enemy base. These fights often need several attempts, between which the enemy base retains its health (even when leaving the galaxy and travelling to it again), and grant permanent upgrades, or unlock the next galaxy.

Each completed battle grants Fleet Scrap, which can be spent on in-galaxy combat upgrades, or reduce the amount of Astrium Fuel needed to travel to that galaxy. Players gain 1 Astrium Fuel every second, and it is expressed as a time for convenience (this means if the player has 3600 fuel, it will be displayed as 1:00:00).

Fleet Battles

When travelling to a galaxy, players get a certain amount of Fleet Resources to use in that galaxy to deploy ships, upgrade stats, or add ships to their fleet. The amount of resources depends on the amount of Fleet Resources gained through reinforces, the galaxy itself, as well as any multipliers to in-galaxy resources. When in a fleet battle, players can commit their Fleet Resources to deploy ships in different formations, which will then fight against the enemy fleet. Depending on the damage the players fleet sustains, a certain amount of Fleet Resources will be retained and can be used again (at least half of the committed resources will always be lost). It is also possible to overdeploy and use more ships than available, although this gets very expensive as every overdeployed ship costs twice its normal amount of Fleet Resources.
