The offline rewards screen

Offline progress refers to progress the player makes while Unnamed Space Idle is closed. It differs from normal, online, progress in multiple ways, resulting in noticeably less gains in certain systems while offline. Understanding how the game calculates offline progress, and how it differes from being online, can help in maximizing resource income and progression.

The following is different from normal gameplay when the game calculates offline rewards (systems not listed behave like normal):

  • Combat isn't simulated, meaning everything relying on enemy kills will instead be approximated as an average:
    • This means the player can "park" their ship further than they could usually sustainably stay right before going offline, for increased offline gains
    • "Waves" are assumed to spawn every 12 seconds (every 4 seconds if Void Lure is enabled)
    • Salvage and Void Matter get calculated based on the current distance
    • Shard drops and Research get calculated in a similar way, based on the current sector
    • Crew XP gets calculated by multiplying the XP gained from the last (partially or completely) defeated wave before going offline with the number of waves spawned during the offline duration
    • Pulverium, Fortifium, and Adaptium get averaged from the last 5 minutes before going offline
  • The AI upgrades Core Auto Upgrade, Base Auto Upgrade, Reactor Auto Buy, Crew XP/Skill Auto Buy, and Crew Auto Reprint don't work
  • The Energy Void Auto Collector synth module doesn't work
