Guide:Power Hungry Challenge
Power Hungry Challenge will disable all damage and shield upgrades and instead will set their value to your current Void Power.
1/10 of damage taken drains void power and emergency retreats last 10 seconds and give 10x power gain.
How to complete Power Hungry Challenge[edit source]
Power Hungry is fairly straightforward challenge, just check the sector data page for the boss hp/damage of the final sector for whichever level you on and see if your VP max is close to that. If you think you can handle that - give it a try. Also, most of the time if Challenge is flashing green it means it can be easily completed.
For the Power Hungry Challenge Core weapons and shields will not scale with level, only the non-damage milestone perk unlocks matter. Tier 1 is reasonable for all completions. Tier 2 weapons have increased range if you can afford full milestones, which is likely at Completion 4.
Laser Boost will increase rate of fire, making challenge way easier, even though it doesn't increase the weapon damage.
Equipment that you should take varies based on the ship used, early on Gatling Laser will be a good option, but later on it's advisable to use following equipment:
2 Beam Lasers
and the rest Gatling Lasers
For the shields it doesn't matter what you pick, since each shield value will be equal to total amount of Void Power Saved.
Modules
Focusing on Power Generator and Extra Battery will allow to expand Void Energy limits, Void Matter Recovery Efficiency will add extra void matter drop if needed.
V-Device
Power Shard should be in a Pink slot to provide extra Void Power Generation
Flex Shard be in a Blue slot to provide extra Void Power Generation as well
Everything else is optional, it's possible to use Compute Shard for extra Void Matter drop, but it isn't really necessary.
Reactor
In Reactor tab leave only Boost Engine to go through the Sectors faster, but overall, all the boosts are optional.
Removing Auto Buy Upgrades will be a good idea, since running out of Void Power means lower damage and lower shields and some enemies might be able to overpower you.
Try to keep your Void Power at maximum.
Target Sectors for Each Power Hungry Challenge[edit source]
Each challenge difficulty has some specific Stage Bosses that needs to be defeated in order to finish the challenge:
Power Hungry Challenge 1 - Sector 12
Power Hungry Challenge 2 - Sector 17
Power Hungry Challenge 3 - Sector 23
Power Hungry Challenge 4 - Sector 28
Power Hungry Challenge 5 - Sector 38
Power Hungry Challenge Requirements: Void Power Maximum[edit source]
Approximate Void Power Maximum values needed, with best shards and modules.
For completeions 3 and up, include the reactor utility core. For completion 2, the VP Max milestone at level 40 will require some salvage farming to activate. Or this can be skipped, by meeting the completion 2 requirement without the utility.
